What is a Water Feature?
Water features may be a form of landscaping or just a decoration that incorporates water, either indoor or outdoor, and may vary from a large landscaped pond or lake to a small tabletop water fountain and everything in between. Water features designed for the back yard may be small waterfall with a small pond or just a recirculating tank. All types of waterfalls or rock designs may be made from small to large.
- Fountainscapes: The smallest outdoor features, incorporate a tank and recirculating system that is easy to maintain.
- Pondless Waterfalls: are built into the landscape but still use a recirculating tank and are easy to maintain.
- Ecosystem Ponds: are small or large and include a balance of rock, gravel, fish, plants, aeration and filtration to produce a living environment.
