spa care

You can ensure many years of enjoyment and relaxation from your spa with just a little bit of regular maintenance. Here are few useful tips. Check out our spa care video.
OUT WITH THE OLD, IN WITH THE NEW
Remember to drain your spa water and refill to eliminate detergent residue and accumulated oils that build over time. When refilling, make sure that you replaced your drain cap(s) and always add water through the skimmer area, not directly into the spa.
CLEAN YOUR SPA FILTER CARTRIDGES
Cleaning your spa cartridges is simple. As with any filtration system, your filter cartridges can become clogged with minerals or calcification, which may result in reduced water flow. This low water flow can make your spa have trouble heating as well so clean filters are doubly important. We recommend cleaning your spa filters chemically, with Bioguard Kleen-it Filter Cleaner, every 6 weeks, but it is also a good idea to rotate them and hose them off with clean water weekly. Don’t forget that even with proper cleaning, filters should be replaced every 3 – 5 years.
THE EASY WAY TO KEEP YOUR SPA SPARKLING
To clean the spa shell, a soft cloth can be used along with Bioguard Off The Wall. If there is build up on your shell, then a nylon brush can be used. Also, your spa pillows can be cleaned per the Owner’s Manual. Your spa cover is best cleaned and conditioned by following this step-by-step. If your cover is easily removable then you can remove it and use a garden hose to remove loose debris. If it is connected to the spa with a lifter then you can wet it down as it sits and sponge off loose debris. If there is buildup, you can use a mild cleansing solution: 1 tsp dishwashing liquid in 2 gallons of water. When cleansing the cover top, use a large sponge in a circular motion. Promptly rinse with a garden hose. You can use a small amount of bleach and water on the inside of the cover, but never use soap. To condition your cover and retain its beauty, use 303 Protectant.
